Jonathan Schulman  was the first Deputy City Attorney assigned to the Las Vegas Municipal Court DUI Court program which required weekly meetings with the coordinators of the program, including the judge, the Alternative Sentencing representative as well as the public defender in that department.

Each DUI Court meeting would consider potential individuals to the program, status reports on people who were in DUI Court, what to do with non-compliant individuals as well as logistics as to how to run the program.

Mr. Schulman's role included to be among the first few prosecutors to the City’s new Prostitution Prevention Program, which is designed for repeat offenders, and he had the privilege to work with the coordinator of the program--which allows him now to know the process and provide insider knowledge to his clients.

As a prosecutor, Mr. Schulman performed all legal roles in criminal prosecution, including but not limited to arraignment, pre-trial, subpoenaing witnesses, and trial.  He was assigned to screen all new cases for six months even though he had only worked for the City Attorney Office for less than two years by that point. He screened most criminal charges including Driving Under Influence, battery (simple and domestic violence), drug paraphernalia, trespass, violation of temporary and extended protective orders, traffic violations, and other crimes, and determined when to seek a warrant of arrest, and when to summons Defendants into court.

Mr. Schulman interviewed cooperative, hesitant, and recanting witnesses for Battery Domestic Violence, Driving Under Influence, and other crimes and negotiated plea bargains with attorneys and defendants.

In the years since he left his position as a Las Vegas prosecutor in 2008, Mr. Schulman has spent most of his time as a lawyer defending individuals charged with the very crimes he once prosecuted.  With his insider knowledge of the system, Mr. Schulman can confidently reassure clients of the good points of their cases and work to mitigate the damage of the bad points of their cases.

Mr. Schulman has called the Las Vegas Valley home since 2005 and lives in Henderson.  He is originally from New York and is licensed in the following jurisdictions:
